To best help his patients he has a prolific dedication to stay up to date with the most current information in the field. He continued his post-doctoral education in the field of functional medicine and clinical nutrition to become a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFMP) and certified Doctor of Natural Medicine (DNM). He is an active member and is a Certified Practitioner of the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFMCP). He appreciates his work in the capacity and scope of a coach, leveraging some of the best techniques in holistic and natural medicine, to guide his practice members to address underlying imbalances and educate them how to maintain the outcomes achieved. He is an international speaker and author of the best-selling book, The Lupus Solution: Your Step-by-Step Functional medicine Guide to Understanding Lupus, Avoiding Flares and Achieving Long-Term Remission.
Dr. Brent has a sympathetic outlook towards individuals suffering from chronic disease and understands how its impact can have a demoralizing effect on an individual’s day-to-day life. The most rewarding aspect of his job is seeing his practice members turn around their health and being able to break free from the shackles of their disease.
Dr. Brent, an East Coast native, moved to California to continue his education, where he met his future wife, Dr. Tiffany. The couple and their daughters, Audrey and Olivia, loves living a healthy, active lifestyle and enjoys spending time outdoors camping and going to the local dog beach.
